Moviegoer requirements

In addition, movie goers are required to wear masks while watching but can momentarily remove them when eating or drinking.

Theaters are also to upgrade their air filtration system and ventilation.

Cinema operators have been struggling since the nationwide lockdown has started last March.

Largest movie chain, AMC Entertainment Holdings, have seen an 85 percent decline in value compared to last year’s earnings.

With all summer movie blockbusters postponed or streamed on major streaming services, movie theaters are even doubtful that they can last longer with the continuing pandemic lockdowns.   Lockdowns has been eased on some states and New York could be the standard for theaters to reopen again soon.
